Emergency Calls via the 112 MD App
The 112 MD mobile app allows you to quickly contact emergency rescue services.
When you press the emergency button, the app immediately:
- sends your exact location
- automatically dials the emergency line
This helps emergency operators locate you faster and dispatch assistance more efficiently.
Phone Number Verification Required
To send an accompanying emergency message with your exact location, you must first verify your mobile phone number.
Without prior verification:
- the emergency message with location cannot be sent
- the emergency call itself will still work normally
Your phone will always automatically dial the emergency emergency line after pressing the emergency button.
Emergency Message Does Not Replace a Call
Emergency rescue services are legally obliged to respond only to actual emergency calls.
👉 Therefore, after pressing the emergency button, always wait until your phone is connected with the emergency operator.
The emergency message serves only as additional information and does not replace speaking with the operator.
What Information Is Sent to Emergency Services
The emergency message may contain:
- your geographical location
- your full name
- your phone’s battery status
- information entered in the My Profile section of the app
By completing and confirming your profile, you agree that this information may be shared with emergency rescue services when initiating an emergency call.
Data Protection and Use of Information
Emergency services guarantee that your data will be used only:
- during an emergency call
- to identify and locate the patient
- for rescue operations
Data may also be shared with other emergency responders when necessary, such as:
- fire and rescue services
- other authorized rescue units
Medical Identification Data
Social Security or Health Insurance numbers may be used by emergency medical services to retrieve relevant medical information from electronic medical record systems.
This applies only when:
- the caller is the actual patient requiring help
Technical Information
Emergency location messages are sent using:
- mobile data transmission
- or SMS
Charges may apply according to your mobile operator’s tariff.
Test Mode Warning
If the emergency button is activated while the app is in test mode:
- the emergency number will not be dialed
Rescue Response Limitations
The success and speed of a rescue operation depend on many factors, including:
- incident location
- terrain accessibility
- current availability of rescue units
Response times may therefore vary.
